Google Data Centres in Europe
Hamina, Finland and Eemshaven, Netherlands
Overview
In March 2009, Google purchased the Summa Mill in Hamina, Finland from Finnish paper company Stora Enso and converted the 60-year-old mill into a world class data centre. Google then invested a further $773 million in a data centre in Eemshaven, Netherlands.
Both these data centres have a high-tech cooling system and use the nearby sea to reduce energy.
Pipe Solutions were proud to be part of the supply chain for both data centres.
